Chicago, May 1, 2012 – MSDSonline, a leading developer of sustainable cloud-based EH&S compliance management solutions, announced today that it has made important enhancements to its Tier II reporting tools that will make container management and chemical reconciliation even easier for users of its popular HQ and HQ RegXR chemical management solutions.
Annual Tier II reporting is an important obligation for facilities covered by the EPA’s Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), also known as SARA Title III. A Tier II report provides information on the types, quantities and locations of chemicals tracked by the EPA. MSDSonline’s enhancements will make it easier for safety professionals to group chemicals and reconcile chemical inventories, as well as print submittable Tier II forms directly from the system.
“For users of our HQ and HQ RegXR accounts, Tier II reporting just got a whole lot easier,” said Mike Flynn, MSDSonline’s vice president of product development. “But it’s just a small piece of what we help our customers with. Environmental and regulatory reporting is an increasingly important part of chemical management, and to help our customers keep up with the changing regulatory landscape, we’ve introduced a number of new tools in the last year, alone— including, a sophisticated regulatory cross-referencing engine that helps identify products and ingredients on state, federal and international hazardous substances lists.”
Benefits of MSDSonline’s enhanced Tier II reporting capabilities include:
- Improved chemical inventory management
- Greater flexibility to group together and reconcile containers from a single location, on-the-fly
- Increased visibility of chemical container lifecycle
- Better search, editing , cloning and tracking features
- More robust data management, exporting and reporting tools
As an example, container reconciliation is a key step for many people involved in the chemical inventory verification process and preparation of a Tier II form. MSDSonline’s system allows users to search for containers during the reconciliation process by container ID, barcode, container name or product name.
“We understand the pain points our customers have around Tier II reporting and reporting in general,” said Cassandra Minutillo, director of product management at MSDSonline. “And while we think these enhancements will help, they are really just another step in what is a never-ending process for us —of listening to our customers and making improvements.”
