OSHA has announced that it will publish a final rule in August to align the Hazard Communication Standard with GHS, the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. Once adopted, the changes to HCS will impact over 40 million workers at more than 5 million U.S. workplaces.
Major changes to HCS from GHS alignment include changes to the classification of chemicals and the communication of hazards via labels and safety data sheets. For instance, labels and safety data sheets both get a formatting makeover and the addition of new elements.
This webinar will provide an overview of OSHA’s proposed changes to HCS and discusses steps your organization can take now to prepare for GHS. Taking a proactive approach is the best way to save time, money and keep your organization in compliance.
