  1. Customer Care Specialist

    We’re looking for someone who has a passion for troubleshooting and solving client’s product challenges to join our team. MSDSonline’s Customer Care team provides superior support to the thousands of clients that use our web-based products. Your benchmarks for success will be your ability to educate our clients on product use, assist with system implementations and maintaining client contact programs that will improve our already stellar client retention rate.

    The Customer Care Specialist will work closely with our entire Customer Care team to solve customer issues and determine appropriate actions to solve concerns while performing the following responsibilities:
    • Providing prompt, courteous service to MSDSonline clients via phone and e-mail
    • Blending professional and technical customer service to achieve superior customer support.
    • Applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to research, troubleshoot and guide clients through MSDSonline’s web-based product suite.
    • Documentation and follow up on all issues daily
    • Directing issues to appropriate departments
    • Integrate new ideas and concepts to help the overall communication with our customers and to maintain our stellar client retention rate.
    • Maintaining a comprehensive understanding of our products and solutions.
    • Maintaining relationships with Sales Representatives to assist them with their customers’ needs.

    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience
    • 1-2 years of experience in a customer support role a plus
    • Customer-driven personality
    • Proficiency in internet browsers, primarily Internet Explorer
    • Computer literate and skilled at navigating websites and web based products/solutions
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) , and familiarity with Access, and Acrobat a plus
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – including grammar and voice quality
    • Self-sufficient and dependable

  2. Salesforce.com Administrator

    MSDSonline is currently looking for a Salesforce.com Administrator to join its Operations group. This is a new position that will report directly to the VP-Operations & Customer Care. In this role, you will serve as the organization’s primary manager of the Salesforce.com application as well as perform both routine and ad hoc administrative tasks. Initially, you will be a vital player on a team seeking to expand MSDSonline’s use of SalesForce.com as primarily a sales force automation tool to one that will also address customer support and various other business process concerns.

    Key tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Management of SalesForce.com
    • Overall management of the SalesForce.com application - data management, configuration, potential workflow, training, security, etc.
    • Understand SalesForce.com configuration and technical/functional capabilities and the potential implications related to SalesForce.com release upgrades
    • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to evaluate existing lead distribution and qualifying processes, and to provide suggestions designed to improve and automate these processes
    • Communicate regularly to user groups in order to spread best practices, details and training on new features and functionality, and other relevant information
    • Maintain user roles, security, profiles, workflow rules, etc.
    • Create and maintain updated system documentation and SalesForce.com policies and procedures
    • Identify and assess current operational inefficiencies that can be improved via the SalesForce.com platform
    • Evaluate integrating SalesForce.com with other third-party and internal applications used by MSDSonline
    • Administration of SalesForce.com
    • Support for all SalesForce.com users across all areas of the company – Sales, Marketing, Customer Care, Accounting and IT
    • Execute configuration changes
    • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards and eventually workflow
    • Bulk import of data on an ongoing and ad hoc basis, including creating process to avoid creating duplications of leads and accounts by using tools such as Excel or Demand Tools
    • Frequent audit of system data – user discipline around SOPs, data cleanliness, and structure
    • Set up and train, and/or assist in the development of training curriculum, for new users

    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Bachelors Degree in Business or Technology field or equivalent work experience
    • SalesForce.com certification strongly desired
    • 2+ years of experience administering/implementing SalesForce.com
    • Self-starter, requiring little day-to-day direction
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access and especially Excel)
    • Strong orientation to detail, process, and prioritization
    • Ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels within an organization
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
    • Project management experience/skills

  3. Product Manager

    We are looking for a motivated, analytical and effective product manager with strong strategic thinking capabilities. The role is strategic and tactical, and requires a flexible and a highly adaptive approach. The position requires exceptional collaborative, teaming and consensus building abilities, as well as proficiency in cross-discipline and cross-product group cooperation.

    Working with Sales, Professional Services, and Engineering, the Product Manager will help develop product direction and specifications, analyze competition, position the products, and help develop marketing/sales collateral and tools.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Be the driving force behind the inception, planning, definition, development and delivery of new products and product releases to market
    • Responsible for ensuring overall business success throughout the product life cycle; including definition and introduction & transforming customer requirements into winning products
    • Work closely with engineering and product development teams to develop and enhance existing products based on customer needs
    • Prepare and write technology, product, and marketing collateral and sales tools including white papers and application notes used to educate the industry and customers
    • Leads cross-functional teams addressing key areas of concern for product line, new product launches and marketing campaigns
    • Competitive analysis
    • Channel support

    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Minimum 3 years experience in product management or equivalent experience
    • Experience in Environmental Health & Safety and or Chemical Management business segments would be ideal
    • Direct experience in launching new, web-based products in to the SMB marketplace a plus
    • Outstanding writing skills and familiarity with performance reporting
    • Desire and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
    • Strong Internet and computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel) as well as an ability to utilize various project management applications

  4. Operations Support Specialist

    MSDSonline is currently looking for an Operations Support Specialist. This entry-level, full-time position supports MSDSonline primarily by assisting Project Managers in efforts to build clients’ MSDS libraries. This position has the potential to lead to roles leading services projects or other customer support activities.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Performs data entry functions – capturing key index fields from an MSDS and inputting them into a client’s database.
    • Sorts and scans paper documents.
    • Searches the MSDSonline database for MSDS records that match items described in a client’s MSDS inventory list.
    • Searches the Web for MSDSs that match products described in a client’s MSDS inventory list or an MSDSonline content project.
    • Contacts manufacturers and distributors to request new MSDSs.
    • Communicates ongoing projects’ status to the Project Manager.
    • Collects and reports various project metrics - including hour tracking, MSDS request success rates, MSDSonline search success rates, data entry progress, etc.
    • Develops a thorough understanding of all MSDSonline products and services in order to potentially provide customer, sales proposal, and product development support.

    Skills/Qualifications:
    • Required: Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent work experience.
    • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access), Internet research & navigation, Adobe Acrobat/Distiller preferred.
