Software Engineer, Level 2
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Development and support of all products including the MSDSonline website and customer Intranet applications.
- Development and support of internal applications to assist sales order management and customer support processes.
- Participate in weekly project meetings and contribute to the establishing priorities, timelines, and requirements for said projects.
Success will be measured against your abilities to perform against the following:
- Ability to create realistic time lines for projects and are your deliverables completed within time projections and consistent with the provided requirements.
- Ability to exhibit an understanding of the MSDSonline customer needs, the MSDSonline business needs and show the ability to balance the priorities of the two even when they conflict.
- Degree to which you are flexible and willing to adjust priorities and projects if needs dictate.
- Ability to communicate issues or problems in a timely manner.
- How you involve others in your decision making process where appropriate. Conversely your ability to make decisions on your own when the input of others is not needed or is redundant.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 2+ years development experience
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of VB.Net and/or C#.Net
- Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS and javascript
- Intermediate/Advanced knowledge of XML, XSLT and XSD
- Intermediate knowledge of MS-SQL databases with the focus on relational database design and query building.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Access Databases.
- Advanced critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team with specific direction, or as an individual project lead with only high-level direction.
- Ability to work with business unit stakeholders to assist with the creation of business requirements for internal business processes.
- Attention to Detail, Strong teamwork skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills;

Quality Assurance Engineer
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- All new product testing, ongoing post release product testing and trouble shooting.
- Utilize development tools such as Visual Studio 2008 to create and manage testing scripts.
- Communicating directly with MSDSonline development team on any issues and following those issues through to resolution.
- Utilizing internal knowledge management application to document product related support content.
- Using internal applications for documenting and tracking ongoing product issues.
- Identifying trends in software defects and recommending solutions for their correction to the Software Manager.
- Assist in reviewing product documentation for accuracy.
- Assist in creating and maintaining User Guides, Product Help, and Release Notes.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred.
- Must have the ability to learn new software products quickly.
- Knowledge of web based applications and their development required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Access.
- Must enjoy detailed work, have the ability to apply critical thinking skills in identifying issues and thinking of new ways to improve the quality of our software products.
- Attention to Detail, Strong teamwork skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of engineering development methodologies is a plus.
- Ability to write, develop, follow and execute a test plan is a plus.
